ok, so with christmas I am going to buy a new 22" wide screen monitor but I haven't got a Clue wich one I should take or where I should look at... I don't have an actual target Price as long the Prices aren't ridicilously high... the main things I do with my computer is Gaming and Designing, Also I might run Vista but I am not sure tough, I got 2 GB of DDR3 RAM (1333mhz) now but to run Vista 64 bit you need 4gb ram? so I might want to trow in onother 4 gb ram, Maybe these? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820145198 Also note that I do not live in the USA so I need to look at the Prices from my country... but I bet it's like $ = € so, 1$=1€ thnx for helping me out, and please tell me if i need the RAM upgrade to run Vista or not.
Buy a Dell screen. They are the best. You don't need 4gig of RAM to run 64bit OS. 2gig is more than adequate.
are you serious, Dell? never knew they made good monitors, always tought that samsumg made the best anyways, the dell monitors are in the price range from 260-320 euro, for 22 inch!!! I'm looking for something cheaper than that, I can get a 24" from onother brand for that amount of money... EDIT: ok I found a pretty good 23"from dell Full HD for 309 Euro from the Dell site
The high range ones are unmatched by any other consumer screen. Their Ultra-Sharp models use S-IPS panels, whereas the best consumer grade screens Samsung offers is S-PVA. I've seen the odd S-IPS model screen floating around, but even second hand is priced roughly 60-70% higher than a brand new TN screen. I would say the difference visually between the Samsung TNs vs the Dell TNs is negligable, however the build quality of the Dells is better, and the bevels are more conservative which is big $$$ in my books. You should be sweet with a Sammy though. Although I still die slightly in time whenever I'm at school and trying to do design work on the screens there... literally I take a piece home on my USB stick and the colours are totally different. EDIT: Definately that 23" will be better. The extra inch doesn't mean much, but going from the 1680x1050 res of the 22" screens to the 1920x1200 of the 23" and 24" models will be huge.
Dell monitors are alright, it's their towers you don't want. There power supply's are a different shape to every other make so you can't just put in any old power supply. You have to find a Dell dealer to have one supplied. Anyway, for a monitor I recommend this.
ok I will get a Dell now, but I am thinking, 23" seems a pretty weird size to me so, I might just get the 24" model, wich is 50 euro's more expensive but atleast I don't get a Weird size monitor Also, it's Full HD with HDMI so i also can attach my Xbox to it it's this monitor btw: Dell S2409W
Actually the 2309W and the 2409W have the same resolution of 1920x1080. The actual size on them has little bearing. However I know several people with the S2409 and it's a very nice screen.
but is it also good for Gambing becuase of the 16:9 aspect ratio, so I mean doesn't everything like get wider becuase Most games don't support 16:9, most of them only support 16:10, right or am I wrong?
Well, any game that supports 1920x1200 is new enough to support 1920x1080. Also, the 1920x1080 resolution is perfect for watching high-def content.
