    ________________________________________________
Barack Hussein Obama (The new President) was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. (his father, same name), a black Muslim from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham (his mother), a white Atheist from Wichita, Kansas. Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii.

Barack Hussein Obama (Obama's father) was born on the shores of Lake Victoria in Alego, Kenya. He met and married an American woman, Ann Dunham of Wichita, Kansas, while they were both attending the University of Hawaii. Their son, also named Barack Hussein Obama was born on 4 August 1961 at the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Although the elder Obama was raised as a Muslim, no evidence supports the claim that he was ever a "radical Muslim," and Senator Obama's family histories note that his father was an atheist or agnostic (i.e., no longer a practicing Muslim) by the time he married the younger Obama's mother.

Barack Obama's parents separated when he was two years old, his father moving to Connecticut to continue his education before returning to Kenya. When the younger Obama was six years old, his mother married again, this time to Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian oil manager. Barack and his mother moved to Jakarta, Indonesia, where Obama spent 4-5 years attending both Muslim and Catholic schools before his mother sent him back to the United States to live with his maternal grandmother. The school Barack Obama attended in Indonesia was "Muslim" primarily in the sense that the preponderance of its student body was Muslim (because Indonesia is a predominantly Muslim country), but both the Muslim and Catholic schools he attended in Indonesia offered a few hours of religious instruction each week.

There ya go. Now, if your still shaking in your boots that were being ruled by a terrorist, then you are either stupid, or think that because your super religious because you went to sunday school as a kid, that everyone is. Spoiler alert, not everyone is like you. I went to sunday school, did whatever we had to do the whole time, sang all the songs, colored all the pictures, whatever. I was baptized, I took my first communion, and I was confirmed. Am I super religious? HELLLLLLL NAWWW. I don't go to church on sundays because I'm too damn busy working on my homework because it will affect how I function in the real world, where miracles are when I get it all done on time to turn it in to my teachers who will ultimately decide what colleges I get in to.

I couldn't vote this time around because I'm 17, but even at 17 I can tell you that whether it was McCain or Obama, your taxes were going to go up, we would be out of the war eventually because THEY want us out of their country, and that the entire world basically still hates the U.S. and would hate us MORE if McCain got elected. The only major countries outside the U.S. that supported McCain were Iraq, because we provide healthcare for their citizens, and Cuba, which I have no real explanation for but it probably involves republicans paying off Cuba for stuff.

Long story short, stop whining, the majority of the country has spoken, and if you live to defend democracy, then you will defend the choice of the majority. Say anything else and you are more of a socialist than anyone else.

In his defense, why not let the court case play out? Supposedly there's testimony (I have neither seen it nor heard of it until now), and the court has issued its order (though a bit of quick googling doesn't turn up much beyond the guy who filed the injunction). Apparently, there's reason enough for this to not get laughed out of court. Are you implying that the Supreme Court is filled with a bunch of morons for accepting this case?

"Republicans paying off Cuba for stuff?" "...because we provide healthcare for their citizens." I'm sorry, but weren't you just laughing at this guy for his absurd theories a few posts ago? Aren't you doing it in this one now? The world doesn't run that way; you're naive to think it does. By the way, the Israelis were pretty solid behind McCain, for what should be obvious reasons.

(before you start labeling me a conspiracy theorist Republican moron, a few things:
    - I believe Obama was born in Hawaii.
    - I'm an independent, though I lean more to the Libertarian side
    - I voted Bob Barr this election. I'm anything but a McCain-Palin supporter. I happen to believe that neither of the two are what's best for the nation right now, though I accept the fact that democracy has spoken. I respect Obama as my soon-to-be president.)

And labeling half of all the Republicans, Independents, and occasional Democrats racist for not voting Obama isn't living in fear?

The only label I throw out is "uneducated" or in more blatant terms, "stupid". Republicans have them, democrats have them, and they fall into all the other parties too. I said in my post I have no idea why Cuba leaned for McCain, and I will say I overstated the healthcare issue. We do not provide it, but we support it. We helped design it, and we do provide assistance to their Health Ministry. (http://www.state.gov/p/nea/rls/27247.htm)

And no, I'm not implying anything about the court cases, I was mainly directing my post at anyone who still thought Obama was a terrorist and not a citizen. I didn't even read anything about the case, I just saw that some people still seemed to believe these false-hoods.

Also, there was no laughing in my post. Before calling people names you should think about your source. Especially if its a post directly above your own with copied text inside your own post -__-...

This whole court case rumor about Obama is false. I'm almost 100% sure of it. I've talked to a crapload of Social Studies, Politics, PIG, and Economics teachers at my school about it and they've all said it's just a false internet rumor going around. Pure e-drama among children that claim they know politics when most of them know close to nothing.(I'll even admit that I'm not that knowledgeable in that department. I know just enough to get by, but I'm nothing special.)

This whole court case would be a big thing. Yet, it hasn't appeared in a single newspaper, nor has it shown up on the news. Obama is going to be the 44th President of the United States. Deal with it.

You do realize that Indonesia was not accepting duel citizenships at that time so Obama would of had to forfeit his US citizenship to attend school there so his Step farther would of had to adopt him or claim him in some way to be accepted in to school

Also its fact that Obama travaled to Pakistan when he was 20 years old. Even though Americans where banned at this time. How did he get in. He used an Indonesian passport...

All I am saying is no not sweep all of things under the rag like it can't happen or he has to be a true citizen. I am staying open to the possibility and I will see how this case goes.

Also don't you think it was funny that when Berg filed this case against Obama and the DNC before the convention. Instead of counter sueing him for a millions and saying look this guy Berg is filing radical suit against Obama here is his full Birth Certificate and recards we put this to rest.

They don't they ignore it and file to dismiss while formal at best. The court dismisses and no 3rd district they denied motion to dismiss and the timeline is set for Obama and the DNC to provide these records. They could of came out and put this to rest but they haven't.

That is all I am trying to say. All I am saying is I want my president to be Constitutionally eligible to hold the highest office in the land. Isnt that what we all want. If he provides these records then great I can sleep knowing yeah he won fair and square because of Bush and he is eligible to be president.

Well, on the very very very low chance that he wasn't BORN in the US, one thing you can say for sure is that he was...er...spawned in the US. Personally, I think that's what should count. ;D

lol see it is possible. I am not trying to sound like ultra conspirecy theory fringe guy. I just want to know for sure that Obama can legitimately hold the office of president of the United States. I will not lower my constitutional standards for anyone.

He could be born anywhere in the world to an American parent (which he was) and be considered a US born citizen. He could forfeit his citizenship in another nation and gain it back, same thing.

He is considered US born regardless of geographical location, and citizenship is obvious.

I really fail to see how he *couldn't* be legal on those grounds.

Worst case is he never renewed his citizenship after leaving (if he had to give it up, you don't know if there were any actual engagements with government, his family was wealthy), at which point it takes couple of months for your normal individual to obtain citizenship, much less for a presidential candidate (probably within the week).

That will likely be the lawyers case presuming the eye witness is actually true.

Dementia makes a good point. You only have to be a native born citizen, meaning that as long as he was born in the US, which I'm sure can be proven very easily if you check out the hospital records, then you can run for President. Of course he passes all the other requirements like being older then 35 and whatnot. But on the off chance he doesn't have his citizenship, he can very easily attain it. But if he didn't have his citizenship when he won the election, wouldn't that mean he won illegally and unconstitutionally?

My honest opinion, ignoring debate or anything about "what if" and such, is that if the majority of our country wanted him to be our president it shouldn't even matter at this point. If only it were so easy.
