Hello, was wondering if someone could please tell me how to use these awesome renders? i try to copy the pic and use it in paint but it comes up with a black background! i then try to save it and open it with paint and it comes out half done! do i need a special programe?? do i have to have photoshope? please help, thanks
You need to have a program that can use transparencies. Renders are saved as .png files, as when they're created in Photoshop or Gimp, the actual render is visible, but the background behind it is set to be trasnparent. Paint cannot read these transparencies and thus fills them with black. download the Gimp. it's a free program, and not very large. Just put "the gimp" into google.
Gimp is probably your best bet, also try dragging renders directly from your browser to the program to maintain the transparency
Yup, just download Gimp. It's similar to photoshop, but free. You might not be able to everything you can like in photoshop, but it's a good program
I have photoshop cs3 and cs4 full version for free but yeah It's illegal soooooooo. Don't look at me *whistles*
GIMP is probably your best bet, but photoshop is a worthy investment. The problem is what all these guys have said. Paint doesn't support transparency.
If you can manage to give it a white background, then you can use the draw opaque function to make it "transparent."
also just to add one thing i dont think was brought up you must save the file to your PC and you cant drag straight from the website into the program you are using
Why use renders in paint anyway? -.- Use the Gimp. Don't buy Photoshop until you have an idea of how much you want to put into graphics. iJGK, gimp is better than nothing, and Photoshop is only a worthy investment if you really want to do graphics/photo stuff.
Now, what would be really fun is if we could report those that we know are stealing Adobe products . Everyone would shut up about it then. If you ever want to make money off of your designs, you have to pay for Photoshop. Someone could get you in huge trouble if you have an illegal version, and Adobe will be within their rights to sue... and win. Even just selling prints is enough. The fact is, most people who steal Photoshop could get it for $200-300 because they're students. They just don't bother looking. It's only the students who complain about it being overpriced. The pr0fessionals can always get a large portion back from taxes, which is probably what Adobe is thinking too. Don't bother stealing a program you won't use that often. Then you can complain to other people about piracy and whatnot. Heck, you don't even know if you like this graphics stuff. Figure that out before you consider forking out money (or breaking the law).
Bork bork bork, I am a student thinking about what to do with my £200. hmm. I could.. buuuuuuuy photoshop... hmm.. or I could... "acquire" a free version, and then I have £200 to spend on other things. hmmm... you're right, it is a hard choice, since students earn next to no money and most likely will not be using photoshop for business. Oh, wee edit just to say: I'm not talking about piracy at all, I of course am only referring to if you work for adobe or are in a similar situation where it is perfectly legal. Not that you'd get caught..
