Kay. So. This isn't against you, by the way. In terms of the realism thing. The reason I don't like realism is it's infecting GR like plague that requires ------ all skill to do. Sure, there's effort involved with a bit of lighting/colouring, more if you're going into proper detail (Pulse for example). A Stock on a stock is -not- a good design, it doesn't look better, and...------ realism. Seriously. It's the new trend, because it lets new people in so much easier then anything has in the past. Want to bet the winner of SDOTY is a realism tag? Kay. PS : Draven, please no realism round. PPS : Seriously does anyone actually like realism? Oh look, move a render into a DIFFERENT stock. Aren't I great. Well, no, not really. We've had a realism trend moment in the past and that ended up being burnt....though that was like, 3 years ago. But still. PPPS : So aye, anyone remember the old..'realism' phase? Basically, duplicate a stock, blur it, put it on lighten. PPPPS : Can't remember what PS stands for.

Yay a thread in my honor. I like realism, don't care what you say. That doesn't mean I can't do other stuff, it means I don't prefer to drown out things with effects.
So...you're saying realism is the new C4D, grunge, splatter, "abstract", etc. Every style will be trendy at some point. Suck it up. Besides, realism is a lot harder to manage than the current "throw some C4D on it and set it to lighten/screen" trend.
Again. I'm not saying any different. Simply replying to what Mantis said. C4D trend has kind of died anywho. Heck, it's better then the last realism trend. Started by...Bullet? Someone remind ma. ._.
some of my fav tags iv seen posted have been realism. going back to when i first joined/started in january
