Tried my hand at a bit of space art. Really pleased with the result First LP in a long time, had a load of fun with it too. http://nick-ini.deviantart.com/art/Mayflow...urney-101466070 FULL VIEW IS MUST. CC and comments plzzz + I have a new dA - http://nick-ini.deviantart.com . This is the only thing on it atm, but more to come
Stop being so negative all the time -_- What is up with you girl..! Ini: It looks amazing. Lovely Job. But I have to agree the ship doesn't fit at all. Btw I am going to make a new DA as well Zain
Yer i kinda agree the ship doesnt fit but everyhting else looks good But maybe just play around with the contrast a bit?
Yar, space ship looks bad. I'm going to fix that, probably make it smaller. It was just there to make the concept make sense.
Rightio. Since this is my field, we'll have a go. As stated the ship doesn't fit in, at all, it's distracting and un-necessary and focus should be on details within your nebulae instead of poorly done extras. Primary reason it doesn't fit in is the lighting, you've got a huge bright light source yet a fairly dull bland ship, not reflecting the light at all. Secondly, your light source seems to be a Lens Flare, and while not necessarily a bad thing it's too obvious and the huge glare is un-realistic in this setting. Nebula is done well for a beginner, if a tad boring but definetely a good start. Stars aren't bad either but they lack variation, they're either large or small and the large ones are too many in number, crowding the scene and taking attention away from where your focal point should be (ala the light/planet) not bad though. Planet itself needs major work, the outer glow is far too harsh and although you've removed it from the darker areas like you should, there's rough lines left from this at the top of the planet. The shadow isn't really reflecting the surrounding area either, with darkness hitting an area as light as any other area while a light source that bright would do more then effect the planet, it would effect the nebulae. Need to work on your planet texturing too, heck, I know what stock you used to do it, instead of just pasting a stock on (not realistic in the slightest, doesn't look good either) try putting together a large 5kx5k document, clone tool some textures together and use that as your planet base, far more detailed/realistic/attractive. The little planet that's sitting next to the light source is really unnecessary. Aside from all this, it's a good start. Nebula's worked well, though could do with some detail. Mainly need to work on planet effects (ala glow), star variation + colour, and your light sources. Go go go.
Thanks Broken, that really helped Since I'm on half term next week (yay for being English) I'll make a V2
