My internet was doing just perfectly until something went wrong. Nothing, including the internet and phone line, would work. I tried resetting it and following directions from a representative on the phone, but it just didn't work. So the next day a worker comes over my house and replaces the router. I have the main router connecting to a wireless router and to a t-mobile router (for phone) and back to my computer. I don't know if this is why my computer is slow, because I used the same method before the internet went down it and worked fine. My internet works, but loading google takes about 5-10 seconds and for µTorrent, I used to be getting around 200 kb/ps, and now I am getting only 10. Please help with suggestions and comments.

20 Credits will be sent to the best solution.

First off, the problem with uTorrent going slow is probably because you need to open a forwarding port on your router. I'm assuming the "router" they replaced was your modem, as there's no way an ISP would replace a router. Then you have your wireless router plugged into that, and your T-mobile (watever the fcuk that is) into that router. That's fine, but you should connect your PC off the t-mobile router. Daisy chaining routers is a very bad idea, as it often creates conflicts, especially if the router has a built in firewall, as many of them do.

Also, take into account that sometimes internet speeds can be poor. You have to remember that your speeds will vary depending on traffic, peak times, and simply that the ISPs might be having issues they're trying to resolve, or servers might be down. 5-10 seconds for googling isn't insanely slow, so it might be very likely.

Could you give me the model numbers of all your routers/modems? I could probably give you some instructions.

in uTorrent click options >> speed guide

on the window that opens click 'check if port forwarding is on' or whatever it says (somewhere on the bottom of the window above the ok button)

if its not open, it gives you a link to a site for a tutorial on port forwarding.

Well earlier on today I was on and I was running at about 150-200 kB/s. Then the monitors on the bottom right hand corner started blinking (Vista) and then it slowed down. I do not know why it continuously blinks, because it already has a connection. I am running from a RCA router box (it's very very small) to a NETGEAR WGR614 wireless router to a T-Mobile router (Linksys) then back to my computer.

EDIT: I do not know what the recommended settings are for Bandwith (Global Maximum Number of Connections, Maximum Number of Connected Peers per Torrent, and Number of Slots per Torrent) If you could provide those, I would be grateful. ^_^

    EDIT2:
So how shall I get my wireless router plugged in? If I connect from the main router to the T-Mobile router than back to my PC, I won't have my Wireless router (NETGEAR) plugged in.

    use the speed guide,

just choose your connection type (to find out if you dont know goto speedtest.net)

or in your case, put what you think is closes to what you're suppose to be getting as a download speed and it'll auto adjust everything for you

I changed all of my settings to which has been showed. I am only running at 10 kB/s. Because it is so inconsistent, I might try and open a port once again. (I followed all directions, but it still says that the port 45682 is not open.)

Call your ISP. There's nothing else we can do.
