    I'll just chime in with a big I-think-macs-are-overpriced too then while we're at it.

    Seriously, I don't mind the OS that much (although I will say I prefer windows) but god, you have to pay about the price of two pcs just to get something that looks smooth with an apple on the side.

    I agree with you all here. Its kinda funny because, I use an iMac! It was something where I had the money for it and I thought (and still think) that it was a good purchase. In my experience, the OSX is more user friendly and its easier to do things once you understand the differences. That being said, if you are looking for something cheaper and just as usable, then a windows-based PC is still a good choice.

    Lol. It's always funny to see how angry people get when people say they have legitimate reason's to prefer MacBooks.

    Let me put it this way;

    I have a high spec desktop. This lets me play games at full graphics, at a high resolution (1920x1200). The fact I'm running dual 24" screens (3840x1200 resolution) gives me ideal workspace, and workflow in my graphic design, programming tasks, etc, etc. It does anything I want regarding power use (rendering, encoding, HD movie playback) and more.

    What I specifically look at in a laptop, differs greatly from most people, and especially many of you. Running OSX on a PC seems like a total gimmick for me. Everything you can do on OSX can be done in Windows.

    I find it hard to believe that people who spend hundreds of dollars on high end PC cases, spend hours and hours tidying cables, spend money installing cathodes, neons and LED fans, and spend hours and hours customizing their Windows GUIs actually have the nerve to say that aesthetics in computers don't mean anything. I really like the fact that MacBooks have the highest build quality of ANY laptop on the market. I like the fact that it's thinner, cleaner, and more robust than almost any other laptop on the market. And I like the fact it natively supports ALL OSX and Apple software features. I don't want to ------ around getting OSX working on a Windows based laptop. That's just a drain on system resources and battery life. Not to mention I'd specifically have to pick and choose which Laptops I buy just to make sure it has hardware with Apple driver support.

    I know more than my fair share about PC's, so I think I can make an educated decision in saying that I prefer Apple laptops. Desktops are an entirely different situation, but it's a case of Apples and Oranges (quite literally).

    I'm not saying a MacBook would be high on my list of priorities for the spending of $3600 (NZ), however if I were buying a laptop, I would make the jump in price.

    Also, you complain about marketing. Every product is marketed. Apple is marketed well. Doesn't change a thing about the product, though.
