a stripped down version of vista will use around 600mb RAM... a stripped down XP install does around 200mb... how much RAM are you saving there seems to be little benefit here unless you absolutely have some sort of issue
And all the crap I'm sure you're installing to get it to look just like it probably uses up a fair amount of RAM. There's a limit to what you can do with a uxtheme.dll hack. You'll need icon packagers, somehow you'll have to get something to imitate the Aero glass effect (which won't be powered by your GFX like in Vista, but straight from your RAM/CPU). Anyway, you can run Vista 100% smooth with 1gig of RAM, and you can run it 100% smooth while really pushing it with the apps with 2gig, so I really don't see why it's such a big deal that it wants more. If you really wanna use as little resources as possible, why aren't you running Windows 98?
it isnt its just i see inverse giving bad comments all over tech and he -reps me not that i care i have enough
Yes, I am a hopeless, ignorant fool when it comes to computers. This one time, I actually thought that SATA and PATA were IDE. Boy my face was red. And I remember when I accidentally thought that RISC chips were more efficient than CISC chips. We still have a laugh about that sometimes. Oh, and the time where I foolishly assumed S-IPS panels were superior to the high tech S-TN panels. At least I can rest comfortably knowing we have you around to tell us all when we're wrong. Thank you.
