    hey Everyone :D

i recently got a External hardrive to put my photoshop files on as i now no longer have a PC
but lately its been messing around with me. here are some issues

doesn't want to stay turned on, randomly shuts down by itself
Files go corrupt after a few days and all the valueable .PSD and Renders that i have made / downaloaded just wasted.
i have moved most of the files i could spare onto my mums (yes mums, lol) laptop. this is just a tiny setback, but would like this hardrive to once agan work properly

any1 have any suggestions on what i can do and maybe how it can be fixed.
    holla if you need info

    thanks.

but would that powersupply failure corrupt the files?
unfortunately i didnt buy it brand new. i got it free from my computer technician. if it does become useless i can just go buy a new one. but just curious on the question about the corrupt files

You can pay upwards of $2000 and get it shipped to a dust free plant to get your files recovered, corrupt or not.

Yes it would, if the drive wa writing, and the power is cut it will leave currupt fles. Same if it is movign files or defragging etc. If the power is continuously being cut then you are bound to have currupt files.

Or you can do it yourself at home for the price of an old hard drive of a similar model...
