Well, I woke up this morning and turned on my computer and it said "A Disk Read Error Occured. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart". I tried chkdsk /r and doing a repair install, but they didn't work. If possible, I want to avoid formatting my hdd. Right now I installed windows on my old hdd and am using it temporarily until I fix my other hdd problem.
does it make ticking noises? do you have an external hdd connected? did anything special too it in someway? does your pc stand on the floor or something that can vibrate if you walk by or jump? some questions
No, its not making any noise and its an internal hdd, I haven't done anything to it, and its sitting on a table. I tried fixboot and fixmbr now but no luck.
download a test tool from the manufacter and run it, if it has faults, its broken. if not uhm just reinstall windows i think
