I already sold it for a good price, but still would like to get some comments on it. Also, don't comment the ----ty banner because it was just a filler. Oh and I realize the footer needs work with colors and some other adjustments. The template's size has been reduced for obvious reasons.
400? Seems a bit much. It's "ok", bit boring with some fairly bad gradients in places. Same style as millions of other sites and nothing to make it stand out, definetely not worth 400$ so lucky you for getting it.
Thanks for your opinion and I'm glad many other people disagree with you when it comes to "same style" and "plain", but it's worth $400 thanks. Also, could I see these millions of sites that look like it?
Lots of other people don't disagree with me, honestly it's nothing special as a website, a lot of people can do the same (if not better). Heck, go talk to Dem etc. A lot of gaming sites etc. have similar lay-outs, with the fairly traditional and normal colour scheme. Meh. Shoot me, personally, it looks amateur.
Yes, they actually do, because I've posted this on many sites. Dem? Dude Dem totally pwns me and has practiced a lot, so not a lot of people can do the same thing trust me. An experienced designers can I'm sure... I'd understand navigation, but come on bro the rest of it? You gotta give me some props, because I haven't seen it laid out like that before. Although you might think I sound like a dick lol, I still do respect your opinion, so if you think it's amature I thank you for your opinion:]
I've been in design for a while now, I have bachelor in Graphic and Web Design... I would have to agree somewhat with Broken. This is set up like what some people call a Web 2.0 site (graphic wise). Many new sites are "trying" to pull this off and failing. Your template actually is done very nice and clean when it comes to that. The log in gradient isn't great, and doesn't really go with the over all colors. Plus its not symmetrical (one side is blurry). Also where you have the "Remember Me" and "Forgot Password", it is off the background table gradient... if that makes any since. All the diagonal and some of the rounded lines are very choppy. I realize this could be due to a smaller size graphic. But this looks like it hasn't been coded yet and just a fireworks/photoshop jpeg. The dark blue font you have chosen is to dark for some monitors to read. If you ever took the time to get on both a mac and a pc, you will notice the mac is a bit brighter in contrast. Looking at it from that perspective, makes it seem to blended and is a bit hard to make out. Not to mention this is not a web safe color. So it will appear differently on all computers and monitors. The header background is a little to dark (both mac and pc), it doesn't go with the colors you've chosen the overall template. Maybe lighten it a few. Not to much tho. The font you chose for the logo is great. One thing I can say that I would tell your client to watch out for is the EA part of the name... EA Sports defintly has this copyrighted I know for a fact. I'm not saying that a few people haven't said that this is an excellent web page. However the majority probably have not coded or designed a site in there life. Maybe a few have designed some basic stuff, see yours, and notice its a lot better than what they can create so they say its amazing... because it is amazing to them. However to a ----- who has been doing this for years, can honestly tell you there are some flaws in this.... I will give you a 7.5/10 if I would have to rate this. Before I judge if this is truly worth $400, tell me if this is fully coded (PHP, MYSQL, CSS, JS, ect) (This does not include forums), how many pages (not including forums). I can see this selling for about $30 for the right to use the design (just as a graphic) or $25 per fully coded page (excluding forums). Good job and keep up the work. As always this is a personal opinion, yours and others may differ.
Thank you very much for your comment. Yeah, I haven't been to school for it so it's nice to hear from someone educated in this replying to my work. It's been coded in CMS and it's actual custom custom cms. Only one thing I can't agree with you is it being $30 just for the design though, your either selling very cheap or something bro, I've made 32 simple themes for almost $1.5k and this is considered cheap with other people I've worked with and seen, I honestly think your getting jipped bro, I admit I'm not the best experienced in this field but I am experienced with the value bro. Anyways dude, still thanks for your comment, I appreciate it.
If you're going to discredit people's opinions merely because they disagree with your own there's not much point in posting it up. I agree with Trav value wise, and I still think you're very lucky, VERY lucky to get the money you did for it. It's not bad, but it's not at that quality, a lot a lot of people on GR manage the same.
