Okay, surprised to see no one posted this... Well I just got the new Metallica CD called Death Magnetic, and I simply love it. I recommend it for any Metallica fans, and anyone who likes Hard Rock/ Metal.
I heard a song from the album on XM Satellite Radio, and it sounded like a huge lump of crap. Lars drums sound like crap (like always practically, ain't even a good drummer). It was definetely not well recorded. S & M cd is the only one I am willing to listen to, because having an orchestra is ------in' awesome.
Is it anything like St. Anger? If so, I'll pass. I really don't like anything after the black album...
Yeah it's alright, I think all the songs are way too long tbh =X There is so much wrong with this statement
I love it, back to their roots man! I read an article about how amazing it is that these guys are so old and still go back to their roots and play them in such a pristine form. Truly, good album!
While the new Metallica CD was good. I do admit it was good. But it was not their best. Its ok that they took a new path with their music and I do enjoy that from time to time. But I liked old Metallica better. Saint Anger and Master of Puppets had to be among the best CDs they ever put out. They should have stuck with that feel. Now I downloaded the CD for my PS3 Guitar Hero 3 and I can do most of the songs on expert but that in itself makes me sad. Because with Rock Band and even GH3s orginial Metallica songs were almost impossible for me to do. Even the game shows that the new Metallica songs are easier and softer then before. I havent lost my love for the band I just wasnt really fond of the way they went this time.
Metallica's Masters of Puppets was an extremely unspecial thrash metal album that ended up ripping off a lot of thrash bands of the years before it to begin with. There was only specs of decency scattered throughout the album, but it was about 2-3 years behind the entire thrash metal scene, and somehow simultaneously became instantly popular. Now every damn metal band wants to be influenced by something so unspectacular as that album. I mean, of all the albums that came out that year, Slayer's Reign in Blood, Kreator's Pleasure to Kill, or even Dark Angel's Darkness Descends, why the hell did Metallica's boring and stale Masters of Puppets have to gain this immense piece of praise for no reason? It did nothing new. Nothing. New. At. All. And if there is ANY fans of Metallica after St. Anger's release, or even Load and Reload, they will have to be THE most dedicated idiot to ever exist.
