I live in Pasadena, Texas right next to houston and im currently getting some pretty strong winds. Its raining a bit but hasn't flooded my street yet.
Anyone else live near the houston area right now?

Ill keep you posted if anyone cares from time to time if my power is till here.

Heres a video I made, taking multiple video clips from my camera. I drove around in the morning checking out all the damage.

Ike is a monster.. Bigger than Katrina. Hurricane force winds stretch 115 miles from the center, tropical storm stretch about 300 miles from the center. Has a 56 mile wide eye wall.. For a category 2 it's a very scary storm. Hope you make it out alright.

No, but think of it as a Katrina of 08, except this time Houston will be devastated. A much more heavily populated place than New Orleans.

The storm itself is far weaker than Katrina, but it's the size that scares me. It's bigger than Katrina and will have a much more widespread effect. Larger hurricanes generally are more destructive.

But it may be worse than Katrina in terms of damage.. There is a very good chance the storm could cause over 100 billion dollars in damage.
