I recently downloaded the new version of Realplayer (11.0.3) | Im running Windows XP Home Edition SP3 by the way. My AVG Anti virus detected a tracking cookie upon opening RP> the tracking cookies are = (owner@p-real[1] -And- owner@real[2]) they install upon opening RealPlayer & while connected to the Internet. They install as a normal cookie to your cookies folder inside User Documents The only way I have found to deal with this sort of issue (for WinXPHE SP3) is to : Goto Start>Run>Type "cookies">Enter>Inside the folder, I delete all cookie files except for the index file The sad thing is, is that every time you open realplayer, these tracking cookies install again. Does anyone know of a way to stop these tracking cookies from installing, once and for all? By the way, with this new version of RP, I notice that you can download videos off the net and on most sites. I dont know if this was possible before?? Anyways, to download, simply open IE (Sadly, this does not work in Mozilla Firefox version 3.0.1 It does work on version 2.0 of Firefox )and Right click on the screen on whichever video you want to download. On the drop down menu at the bottom is the option to "Download video to RealPlayer" It will download into a folder in your documents: - My Documents\My Videos\RealPlayer Downloads The downloaded file is in FLV formate (default) Use any video conversion tool or program to change the formate to your desired formate (avi, mpeg, wmv, etc.,..) Anyways, if anyone has a proven solution to this tracking cookie(s) delima, please help me out. Thanks in advance! -Unkie !!!!!! I just noticed I posted this in the wrong section. im sorry. could a mod move this to the Technology forums, please? Again, im sorry.
