For someone insulting other individuals vocabularies its quite intriguing to have noted that none of your posts have a word longer than 'vocabularies' nor anything as diverse. Ferret, I, and Logical were all very much so alive, and old enough to remember Clinton's presidency, and in case you have not noticed, we all agree that he was a damn good president, even with his numerous faults. Our economy is one of the main characteristics present in the world today keeping America as a super power. Without economy we would have no form of remotely unbiased government, no weapons, no imports, nothing. If you actually *read* articles regarding the value of the current US dollar in the global economy you can see that how our US dollar and economy as a whole is subsiding, and other nations in the world are gaining a richer economy and greatly improving their industrial level, and thus power, at a rapid level. This is especially true of the Middle East and eastwards. You are quite ignorant to state our economy is not an important issue. I also love how your calling others sheep when you consider Fox media to be an invaluable factual source. You're aware of he blatantly false lies and rumors that have aired and their immature antics that occur on their network, correct? You're aware of the lawsuits opened against them for spreading false information? If anyone is a sheep here, it's you. This isn't to state any other large news station is any more accurate, the longer we continue on the time line of life the more corrupted and biased different stations are, the more they start pushing their personal beliefs and influencing those who dig into them. Your right, this nation is based on equal rights for all, not rights for one group of people above all. I would love to say you can't pick and choose where your tax dollars go, but that is incorrect. Every single matter that is passed through the federal and state levels goes through elected officials. Those very people you vote for to put into office are likely the same people voting for what you're against, notice how important your votes are now? We treat every race equally, and every religion equally, that is largely why this nation has an extremely diverse amount of religions and beliefs, because our government does not act against specific belief systems or religions. Their religion requires that they pray at specified times during the day, in specified conditions, your religion does not. It is as simple as that. My old school used to let certain students drop off for full periods of school to attend religious seminars just across the street, daily. They also hired a very small amount of teachers who would fill those students in on their days off. They did multiple things to accommodate minorities and people of diverse beliefs. Evolution is only allowed because its the only belief backed by science and largely explainable via tests. You could argue that gravity is not proven as well. Matter of fact there is no 'facts' in the perfect sense in the entire world. A fact is something that assures that, provided the circumstances are exactly the same, the exact same outcome will come out of it 100% for all eternity, it is something that has never and will never change. No religion can be proved, or disproved via science, however the *theory* of evolution is *largely* backed by science, tests, and evaluations, which makes it the most accurate, and generally unbiased form of education we can provide to everyone. *Most* schools nowadays don't even do extensive studies on evolution, they explain the basic concept alongside the laws and evaluations of theories and tests alongside it generally in a week or two, have a test on it, and move on. The areas where you delve more into it are in college, where you have to choose to be in such a class. I hope you realize that this nation is far more biased TOWARDS the Christian religion over anything else. Matter of fact, by honoring OTHERS peoples beliefs outside their own they are practicing Christian commandments and morals. You on the other hand like to toss judgment around like you, yourself, are God, which you clearly aren't because you have broken numerous sins in this very topic.
The quote says that Clinton cut taxes from 70% to 40%, correct? Logically, this puts 30% of my paycheck back in my pocket. Because I have that money, I will probably spend it. Spending that money, especially on American goods, helps our economy. Clinton signed those cuts into law. How am I wrong?
"Oh, and if both you and your spouse waited to have sex after marriage, it's not very likely you'll get an STD, now, is it? As all of you sexually active young people should know, there is no way to protect yourself completely from STD's, no matter how safe you think you are." Could you contradict yourself anymore? How does waiting till after marraige lower your chances of getting an STD? How in any way, shape or form does it? If a 16 year old is in a commited relationship, and they're both safe (Condom or Pill or both) then them getting married, in no way shape or form reduces their chances to get an STD. Logic is exteremly flawed here, I can be as safe as I am now at 17 then I can be at 40, there's no secret method introduced as soon as you get married. What about couples who never want to get married? New couples at 45 etc.? Is it more dangerous for them to have sex then a married couple? "Facts" can be interpreted, draw from them what you want, bend them to suit your needs.
First, I really don't care if you and 2 others think Clinton is a great man. Second, of course our economy is important, but faced with the threat of nuclear war(which, is exactly what we feared before the colapse of the soviet union), not so much. A loss of economy is a small price to pay, to rid our children of the fear of nuclear attack. Again, you'd understand, if you went through it. As for fox news, why not try backing up that criticism. You can't simply state something as being biased, with no proof. I have yet to state any news channel as biased, in fact, you guys were the ones that started that. As for our tax dollars, the elected officials never do what they were elected to do. People vote to ban abortion in a state, to make an amendment, and what do our lovely elected officials do? They either ignore the vote and allow it anyway, or they simply don't allow for a vote to begin. Ferret, if he only did 30% of the cuts, that means Reagan, the guy you hate, did the other 40%. If clinton was good because of his economy, then shouldn't Reagan be BETTER? Broken, read the link. Just read it, stop yammering about your opinions of it, and read the link. If any of you would like to have a REAL, honest to God DEBATE, where you have to actually back up your statements with proof, please, pm me. I'd love to hear your arguments fought with something besides opinion.
Same goes for you pal. I am simply being lazy and not botheting with posting OMFG SOLID PROOF because I don't have the time to do that when all I am doing is trolling.
When Carter was president, taxes were at about 70% according to your quote. It says Reagan cut that rate in half, to 35%. Your article also says that he eliminated tax loopholes, which is also good. Now, here's the fun part. Your quote says that Congress was controlled by Democrats under Reagan. Just a quick question for you: who makes up those bills that say how much FICA takes out of my check? Here's a hint: it's not the president. Your quote says that Clinton's tax rate was "under 40%." Rather vague, but I'll just hope that your author isn't stupid enough to write an anti-Clinton article when his tax rates were lower than Reagan, so we'll say they were about 38% under Clinton (don't have time to dig around right now). Here's the catch: the Republicans gained majority in Congress in 1994. So, who raised taxes?
For the love of god is this going to be your argument to every point I bring across? "Provide facts". Sorry, you provided a pathetic example argument (which, by the by, the page you linked doesn't support) and you're yet to correct your original, rather, strange statement that upon being married you're less likely to get STD's. I'm tired of your cookie-cutter responses, so please, bother to actually respond instead of posting a link to a site to let it do it's work for you, or continue to spout rubbish. Thanks.
Shourisha tell your mom and sister(s) that everyone on GR says hello also that we all want to inpregnate your sisters before they get married.
Your kid couldn't learn about creationism but could learn the theory of evolution because creationism is a religious belief and, you said it yourself, evolution is a theory. Evolution is NOT a belief. It is an idea developed through extensive research. It is just what the scientific community, based on the most current research, thinks is the origin of life on Earth. It is not based solely on a book written nearly 2000 years ago. It is extremely unlikely that we can ever know what really happened, but, based on the evidence, evolution is by far the mostly probable theory. And anyway, what's so wrong with your tax dollars building prayer rooms for Muslims? Are you opposed because it's not what you agree with? Or are you opposed just because you're so sure you're right? Your tax dollars go to PLENTY of less-worthy causes, anyway. Go ahead, pick your state. For me (in New Jersey), only $0.044 of the average tax dollar goes to education (which would include your Muslim prayer rooms) and nearly ten times that amount ($0.422) of the average dollar is spent on the War in Iraq. It seems to me that, no matter what you believe, a WAR that is consuming nearly half of the average tax dollar is more important than a small part of an already small portion of your tax dollar. My point is that there are many, much more important places your money is going. Please don't stress over a few attempts to accommodate all students. ANYWAY: if you're so upset about your kids learning our crazy, hippie, atheist liberal propaganda send them to parochial school.
if you can prove to me that the bible was truly written and are the words of god; i'll call you god. btw I believe in God, so i don't need church!
Just for the record, creationism is a theory in itself. It's not backed by a whole lot, but it's a theory. Way back when, in my biology class, we were taught that evolution and creationism were both theories as to how the universe came about. When you start worshiping that creator, it then becomes a religion. The worship part never came into play in my class, though I do remember that we had to write an essay about how we believed the universe came to be. In God's country, most of the kids put "God made it in seven days flat." Me, not so much.
