    What is the card?

and the motherboard is rarely the issue regarding hardware size, its going to be moreso with the case.

only thing that could affect the card fitting would be the heatsink over the northbridge, your more likely to get stuck on the case, most cases you get in stores on prebuilt pcs are minitowers you need at least a midtower or preferably a fulltower

xlink: I'm building a new computer. The MoBo and the video card are both going to be new.

Here's a link to my case: Click
And here's a link to the video card: Click

    Based on this picture:
it looks like the card would run into the heat sink, if that's what that is. Unless it's high enough up that it would just go right over that.

OK, if you guys wouldn't mind finding me a better MoBo, pretty much if it's $150 or less it's good for me. Just make sure it can be used with that video card.

I will just letting you know though, I'm only familiar with intel setups for the time being since everything AMD has out is comparative crap(as far as gaming and end user computing goes AMD can't compete any more, Core 2 decimated athlons and phenom is only a little bit faster than athlon and not enough to catch up and AMDs prices are just a little bit too high to justify going with them given their relative performance deficit).

Wow, I think I'm going to have to make up a new list of parts for my computer. I've been hearing now, from you, and on other forums, that Intel is better. I'm going to look for an Intel processor, lol. And in those 2 MoBos you showed me, it looks like neither has eSATA, and I can't tell where the video card would go because of the colors, but I have a pretty good guess, and it looks like the video card couldn't fit. Look at the picture below:
The red line is how much clearance it needs behind it on the MoBo, am I wrong?

Yeah you are wrong. If you go based on the picture you gave above, the Video card goes in the PCIExpress x16 slot. So as you can see by the picture you have above, the part sticking out of the bottom would go into the slot. The back end you have underlined in red goes the rest of the length of the board. Here's the picture you posted above, the redline drawn corresponds to the redline you drew on the GFX card. (Horribly drawn, but you get the point.)

The card will fit no matter what, you just have to make sure the motherboard fits in the case.

eSATA isn't widely used at this point(I've never seen an eSATA device sold retail) and the DS3r actually DOES have eSATA if you look at the accessories it shows an SATA to eSATA adapter(electrically the two are identical the only real difference is the location of the port) and the cables necessary for it.

and even then, eSATA brackets are CHEAP

    also AMD's HD4870 > GTX 260. And it's cheaper.
at this point the only nvidia cards worth looking into are the 8800GS($70-80 and great bang/$), and the 8800GT($120 on sale). AMD has everything else, 4850($160-170ish) beats 9800GTX($180) and 9800GTX+($190), and the 4870($260) beats the GTX260($250) and is within a few percent of the GTX 280($370). 4850CF is cheaper($320-340ish) than a GTX 280 and beats it, and the 4870x2 is the best card on the market.

Trans: I just thought that the graphics card might not be high enough up to go over that stuff. Thanks for pointing that out.

xlink: I guess I gotta do more research. :P A lot of those cards you pointed out aren't quite what I want. The others are much too expensive. But the first one you pointed out is excellent. They have less memory, but the core clock is much higher and they're cheaper. And if the memory is lower, it just takes from your main RAM, right? So how's this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814161236 I don't like that it runs hot and loud, though. If you could find me one of those that runs cool and quiet, that'd be great.

    Zero: Thanks.

Video Memory is completely separate from the main RAM. If you run out of Video memory I think the computer just shuts down or something. It's never happened to me, I have 256MB of video RAM, and I've never had a problem. I run Dual Monitors and play COD4, as well as Render in C4D.
