    Hmm?
I found 2 great ones. One was an Intel and the other AMD.
Now what puzzle me was, whats the difference. So I want the opinions of those who use either of this processors.
Which is better, and what exactly are they for? I heard AMD was good for gaming.
I need opinions before the labtops go out of stock.

Nah seriously. Can you post the laptops? It's not as simple as just picking either intel or AMD.

AMD had good processors for gaming... in 1999 and in 2003. They are so far behind now that it's... sad. and it's not in gaming it's in almost everything.
that's at the highend though at the lowend/mobile sections it's a fair deal closer and bang/$ they are pretty close.

core 2 duos are around 20% faster per GHz than Athlons.
Pentium Dual Cores are around 10% faster per Ghz
Core Solos are on par with Athlons.

as for the differences between Intel CPUs and AMD CPUs...

    different cache architecture
    different pipeline architecture
    different ALUs
    different FPUs
    ...

    different implementation of code extensions...
    ...
    different memory architecture.

different design philosophy(Athlons are RISC processors with RISC to CISC translation done internally, Intel CPUs are pure CISC)
the list is too long. You want me to go on? there are over 200million transistors in a CPU and they're all laid out completely differently.

so to answer your question they're both drastically different design, they're however comparable in some sense and it really depends.

Off topic: it's a shame what happened to amd, theyu were the first to break the 1ghz barrier (to my knowledge) and the first to have 2 cores side by side. They had the innovation there, a few years back but intel pwned them.

    Hmm?
Hmm, I researched it up a bit myself, and Intel seemed to come out better. Time to go with good ol intel.

Intel is more reliable also it doesn't require a higher fan speed on it
Amd will burn up and crash in 2.3 years happened to most of mine and other friends comps (which are Amd)
    So stick with intel.
