I agree. It is majorly racist and is unfair to Ehadadi. I think if a team wishes to recruit him, no matter what country he lives in, they should be allowed.
I think the issue here lies not with race, but with nationality. We haven't exactly been on friendly terms with the Iranians since 1979; I don't think we have diplomatic relations with them, and there lies the problem. He'd have to become an American citizen to get around it or, as the article mentions, he could get an exception from the State Department. It'd be the same situation if Ehadadi were Cuban.
Which is essentially being banned from the league. Regarding citizenship, I don't really care regarding our relations with the nation, its a blanket punishment for things done by a group of people. I know there are members whom are not American citizens in the NBA, they should be equally as restricted imo.
