A huge jump from Soul Calibur 3 which even for the time was some-what lackluster. It's something different from all the FPS games we have had to look at, and it truly is something special. The environments looks excellent, although at times can look a bit flat, and the character models are great. One flaw of environments is that they aren't as interactive as past games have had (ex: smashing people through walls.) __________________________ ------------------------- Gameplay: 9/10 +Fun, moderately paced action. -Some characters feel a bit sluggish. ------------------------- _________________________________ The controls have been pretty revamped from previous Soul Calibur games, although it is much easier to control, and get the move you are aiming for! The attacks are flashy, and there is a huge variety to them. If you are a fan of fighting games then you won't be disappointed. Also some new mechanics like the breakable armor, and Soul Gauge have been added. They definitely add something different to how you fight. __________________________ ------------------------- Sound: 9/10 +Soul Calibur is known for it's epic orchestral sounds, and IV is no different. -Some character lines are extremely cheesy. ------------------------- _________________________________ Much like previous Soul Calibur games the music is more epic than other fighting games, it has an orchestral feel to it, and it really get's you into the game. Even just the game sounds like sword clanking is right on. Sound is no issue for Soul Calibur IV. ------------------------- --Overall: 9/10-- ____________________________
out in 2 days... Yoda for 360 and Darth Vader for PS3. Bought time there was a new fighting game around.
I thought it was the best in the series, there's unlimited amounts of things to do, and it never bores me.
Finally someone else that thought 2 was better than 3 . Seems like everyone is against me on that, and they think 3 is better . Hard to decide between 2 and 4, both are great games. Obviously you can't compare them on graphics, 4 has a bit better control, and 2 has much better weapon selection. I don't much care for how they set it up in 4 in that aspect. I can't decide which is better . Definitely in the top 2 . Lots of stuff to do, but the online can be a bit annoying at times .
2 > 3, for sure I might get this game in a while, not sure. Kinda waiting for the new Tomb Raider. But I do wanna play with Vader so Nice review btw
I heard Vader was crap. Yoda isn't too good unless you know a majority of his combos. Though one of his biggest pluses is that he can't be grabbed. Jedi wise I'd say The Apprentice is overall the best. It'll be nice once they allow downloads for Vader/Yoda. 2 is much better than 4 imo. Story in 4 is pure crap compared to Weapon Master that 2 had. Tower of Lost Souls is a nice addition though some levels are hard as hell. Customization is nice and pretty well in depth with what you can create. Overall a good game but not up to par with Soul Calibur 2.
