The subwoofer for my computer's sound system is picking up the radio... it didn't used to do it, and it had stopped for a while, but now it's back. I probably wouldn't mind so much, but it's a talk radio station... Which is boring. I can even make out what they're saying if I put my ear up to it. The sound system is about 7 years old and is harman/kardon. That's all I want to say, because if I pick it up to look at it, I might lose my left speaker again, lol. (needless to say, we really need to invest in some new speakers) So, can anyone solve this strange mystery of how I'm picking up the radio? I think I still get it even when the computer is off.
My old harmon kardon's did the same thing, I could never get it to go away, even cutting full power from the system, etc. I eventually just threw them out as they were old anyways and replaced em, new ones don't pick up any other signals atm.
I'm too cheap for my own good. These speakers are so old that if you don't push the volume knob inward or upward, the left one won't function. Eventually, I took the knob off and used some tape my mom took from the hospital to push it in. The keyboard has volume control, so I just made sure the speakers would be turned up as loud as we'd ever need them. At least now I have two functional speakers, lol. I guess that this brand just likes to pick up radio, lol. It's a little odd, but whatever. At the moment it's not getting anything, so we'll see when it starts picking it up again. Maybe I'll figure out which station it is.
Well I mean it's not that odd. All speakers are receivers, and since it's an old system I'm thinking it's probably analog signals rather than digital. Since it takes in analog and because it's so old the filter it uses is probably beginning to go and so it's open to a wider range of signals that it should be.
