You should have got a headset with your xbox. Silver membership allows you (feel free to correct me if I am wrong) to use the marketplace and text your friends. Gold membership allows you the perks of silver, as well as voice chat, video chat, and playing xbox 360 games online. I don't know exactly what you mean with your wireless and level 1, but I am assuming you are referring to being a floor beneath the wireless. That shouldn't be much of a problem. Lag has never been a big issue for me, and my wireless isn't the best in the world. Halo 3 always lags, wherever I go. But I have experienced very minimal lag in GTA IV and Burnout Paradise. I haven't played the other games so I would not know. Lag isn't much of an interference in any game that isn't an FPS or requires aiming of sorts. As for the headset, it is not required, and I usually don't wear one unless playing with a friend. Many people use them though. I don't really know what to make of your last question. Your voice masks sound pretty well, no problems there. But if you are asking how your voice makes sound, you have the option of turning your headset on and off without removing it from your controller. You can also adjust the volume.

I would say all of that is worth it, though as I said I haven't played Mortal Kombat DC nor NBA 2k9. Burnout Paradise, GTA IV, and Halo 3 (when it doesn't lag) are great games though.

    Have you PLAYED Halo 3?

Seriously, make sure you like that game before you buy it. Personally, I despise it (sorry halo fans).

Also, maybe you'll like call of duty 4.

    cod 4 is a must
    halo3 was ok
    Burnout is good
If you get into online play you will regret going wifi

you need to get xbox live gold coz the games are easy to finish so the live part gives you much more game for your money.
Head set well that deppends on whether you are social or not the xbox live crowd are mostly good so i would get 1
Silver will alow text and market place stuff butthats about it.
with the console you have the option to have a trial 1 month gold account when you make a new gamer tag you are normaly only alowed to do this 3 times(i have done 15 so far lol) i suggest you give that ago and see if you like it.

    good luck

There is no disadvantage to using wifi whatsoever. Any lag would be caused by your wireless modem, but that's unlikely.

As far as how updates work, I'm not sure. I know they're free and easy to install.

Well Nba2k9 will lag alot even if u have a lil internet use on ur wireless cuz i have 2k8 since 2k9 didnt come out yet i think, My 2k8 is always laggin since somebody is always using a computer in my house only if there using aim it will lag so yah you gotta have a very very fast internet provider i have cable but yah. Silver u cant play online thats the only difference from gold, The updates when u put in your game you go to the xbox live section and over there you check out downloadables and if theres any updates for that game you can get it from there. GTA 4 amazing game good online play Halo3 gets boring after awhile of online play. The rest of the games i dont know anything about so yah. =]

Isu, I really think that was your modem/router's fault.

Here's a review giving nothing but praise to the wifi adapter.

    http://hardware.teamxbox.com/reviews/xbox-...ing-Adapter/p1/

    And another...

    http://blogcritics.org/archives/2006/04/30/2334342.php

"After testing a dozen or so Xbox Live and Xbox Live Arcade games, I have seen no difference in latency between a wired and wireless Xbox 360 connection. The first game I threw at it, Dead or Alive 4, worked with no lag at all. Downloading content from Xbox Live Marketplace performed equally as well when using a wired Internet connection... With such an elegant design, and simple setup, it is very easy to recommend this adapter. Pricey or not, the advantages are worth it." - blogcritics.org

I actually read some customer reviews where they said they received lag. I suppose it depends on the person.

IMO, keep the receipt so you can return it if you don't like it.

    YEAH WOW GET GTA4.

    Seriously.

The only thing you should be debating is if you really need any other games after GTA4.

(I just bought a 360, should be here in a week or so!)
