Hey all , I'm a returning member, I haven't been here for a long time. GR is really awesome. I used to chill here about 2/3 years ago before the release of photoshop CS.

When I used to be a member here at GR's, there were always grunge sig tutorials, vector tutorials, abstract sig tutorials. But now all I see are sigs of the future such as smudge sigs, sprite sigs, c4d sigs, stock sigs. I just miss the old sigs that were on this site.

When I went to check out the shops here the sigs were insane. Craziest colors and brushes I've ever seen in my life. But now when I check the sig tutorials and the shops all I see are sigs that are nothing for me.

So basically my question is what happened to the grunge/abstract sig era where nobody used C4D's or stocks?

Ah I see, thanks. So what type of styles do we have now exactly? C4D's seem to interest me I made a sig with one.

Can someone please list the styles?

I make what I call "normal" tags.. That is, a little bit of everything ;)
I'd give you advice in saying pick something you enjoy, and it doesn't have to be one of these new styles. If you really liked grunge, you could improve it and basically revive it. These tend to happen a lot, for example, smudging.

I see what you're saying Immortal I could try that. I doubt I would revive it though since I'm not that good lol. A little bit of everything seems cool. I can mix in abstract c4d's and smudging and that would be pretty cool I guess. I'm going to have to go look up tutorials since I have no idea how to smudge or anything like that lol.

Well thanks for the help guys. It's too bad they died though.

Too me the styles are really

    Abstract
    Vector
    Photo manipulation
    Realism
    Grunge
And some original styles I've only seen at forum specific places.

Everything else goes under one of those (examples: C4D=abstract, smudge=grunge, etc.).C4D and Sprites are really just resources to me like Stocks, and smudging is just a technique, none of them can really be called styles imo(course that's all probably just me).

Yeah Dreamon , I meant to say that lol sorry.

So basically we would say magickarp (sorry I have no clue how to spell that lol) evolves into garidos.
Same thing with sigs now huh?

That's pretty cool. So they're going to keep evolving hopefully as from you guys said. Unless it gets stuck at this stage.
But I'm starting to like these sigs. So thank's for you help guys. Now I know what's been going on lol.

I'm in the same boat... As soon as places like BEO and leetweb shut down, everything pretty much changed overnight.
