I got a tad bit bored today so i decided to start poking around in PS's core files.
Opened a few DLL's and found the splash screen.
So I edited it to make it custom and unique.
Plan on delving deeper in hopes of finding the text in the splash screen so i can remove it.

    Anways here it is.

    Very nice :)
The text is something that needs work indeed. Simply editting the background colour to the dark colour and changing the font to white would do nice though :)

    Ah yea, That would work.
I may Change the black to white and the text i added to black.
But if i can find the DLL containing that, it would make things a hell of lot easier

Also, This looks EXTREMELY sexy on CS3.
I was using CS2 in that photo so the white boxes around the text are not so hot.

I'm thinking it's gotta be one of the version cue's(since it tells you the version a the top) but I dunno how to open them.

Sorry everyone, I got caught up in some things.

Ok I will write my own little tut since in case someone has trouble understanding a different one.

(Before beginning you may want to back up the PSart.DLL found in Photoshop's Program file)

1.Fire up your favorite resource viewer/editer.(I personally use ResourceHack, Google it)

    2.File>open, navigate to Photoshops program folder (Windows - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3)

    3. Open PSart.DLL

    4.Expand the folder PNGF

5.Scroll down until you find SPLASHARTFEATHER for CS2 or SPLASHARTBACKGROUND for CS3

6.Depending on your version expand one of the two

    7. You should now see a tiny logo with 1033 next to it, Highlight 1033

8.Go to the top bar and do Action>Save Resource as Binary File.

    9.Save it anywhere as 1033.PNG

10.Fire up Photoshop and open the newly made PNG, Edit it to your liking.

11.Save it, Make sure it stays 1033.PNG

12.Go back to resourcehack, If you closed it then Follow the past steps to get back to your versions splash file.

13.Once you have you splash file open, highlight the 1033 again

    14.Go to action>Replace other resource

    15.Browse for your edited 1033.PNG

16.On the line "Resource Type" Put PNGF

17.On the line "Resource Name" Put either SPLASHARTFEATHER.PNG if on cs2, or SPLASHARTBACKGROUND.PNG if cs3

18.On the line "Resource Language" Put 1033

    19.Press replace

    20 File>Save

    You are done!
When Photoshop is started your custom splash screen should be displayed.

Does the splash stay there? For some reason when I use to do it for PS CS, the splash would revert back to the original; only my PS7 splash remains the same.

Yeah, I don't see a reason to upgrade.

I believe the .dll I fooled with for CS is PSViews.dll; which is where it is located, just that it decides to replace itself with the original.
