    You try Start>COntrol Panel>add remove Programs ?
ANd try running Ad-Ware SE and get rid of some wares on your comp which would be casuing the pop ups most likely.

Set Mozilla (firefox, latest ver i assume?) to your default browser.
When apps open links they use an "Open URL" type command rather than something like
    Shell ("C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe", "http://thelink")

Should work for MSN too, i think its written in VB or similar so it will use the openurl command, which uses the default browser

    http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/all.html

Download the latest version for your Operating System. When its installed, Tools > Options and click the Default Browser box.

This should make all links open up in it, even if its from a program like MSN

You cannot get rid of internet explorer in XP. Before it was a program, but now it is actually a part of the operating system.

Do you have Service Pack 2 for XP? If so IE should has the built in pop up blocker. I still use firefox, but if you do have sp2 and still get all thoes pop-ups with IE - you need a good spyware remover. I suggest Webroot Spysweeper.

Service Pack 2 for XP. i think that most people have Service Pack 2 for XP cause its a caution if you do not install it.

Point is it's at the users discretion to install SP2 or not. There are plenty of people out there who have no idea what windows updates are regardless of SP2 itself.

Owell, the addons dont take long to install and the pros of firefox far out way those of a fully stocked IE.
