I've already been in the situation in court where I defended someone else =P. So long as the individual in question is unable to defend themselves, you can act in their defense. It took place in my home (I am on the lease) where an individual had the intent to harm (and in fact, did harm) and made the said individual incapable of defending herself. Not to mention, as I said, females naturally have a much larger pull on domestic abuse cases and in this case she is an eye witness to the events, and I may add has quite a nice sized bruise on her face shes been trying really hard to cover up. The only thing required would be for her to say he hit her and I came to stop him from taking it further and he would be the one found guilty (and likely sentenced to a pretty long time in jail due to his history with assault, drug abuse, and anger management courses, etc.). I do not ever tolerate a man touching a female with an intent to harm unless his life is at stake. No biggy about that though, I just found it quite humorous this guy is like absolute schizo. He said he felt obligated to express his story to me because today is 08/08/08, aka 888 the number for new beginnings.
way to butt into sombody else's buisness.. you really had no authority to do that, unless you have a crush on his wife or something..
Sorry, considering my name is on the lease if she were to take him to court over it and I was present at the time and did nothing I would be held equally accountable for not reporting it myself (yes, if you know of a crime, and you do not report it, you are considered equally responsible for engaging in the crime in the US justice system). Your opinion on the subject doesn't matter though GP considering we've all seen the vastly superior *cough* intellect you have over everyone else.
The red part: I assume you mean Live instead of love? And, if he has had a criminal history, involving anger managment you should be secured though. Also the fact that you have multiple witnesses would strengthen your case IF he would try to take this case to the court. But nevertheless you took care of it in a proper way. A bit extreme, but extreme actions are best countered by extreme reactions. (In most cases though )
