Apevia Beast 680w power <<-- POS PSU you should've gotten a quality unit that was rated realistically. There are no standards for how PSUs are to be rated. chances are that apevia unit can't put out solid power past 200W or so based off of the quality of all their other units

good choice on the 4850s though.

the size isn't the issue so much as the resolution.

Is that ATI card the X2 version? or just the regular 4850?

I would have also went with an Intel setup rather than AMD. Intel has finally taken over the reigns with their Quad-cores. The Phenoms still haven't quite matched up with them and they also run hotter than the Intel's. Intels are taking up 65W while the Phenom's are up at like 140W.

How much did that setup run you btw? If you don't mind me asking.

intels quads are pushing probably around 80W full load and the phenoms are probably pushing around 100W. However intel chipsets push around 20W more than AMD chipsets so as far as total energy consumption and heat generation goes it is pretty even.

the problem with AMD's quads isn't power/heat, it's performance. The phenoms are just... slower.
