on my other computer, the entire thing will freeze at the loading screen for windows xp, the last thing i remember doing was reformating a floppy disk, there are no disks in the drives, im screwed.
I have an overheating problem as well=S internal fans are cheap, but most likely you have a house fan in your home somewhere...grab it, and put it on your computer, works wonders. lol
Just reformat or press F8 or F11 F10 forgot which one, and see if it allows you to do a Earlier Restore point. When you start your comp.
try and go to a pro and get them to wipe it but save all ur files and guys get some COLD FACTION Fans....i got 7 hehehe
It doesn't give you the blue screen at all does it? A lot of times if it gives you the blue screen you can google the problem #'s to find out what might be causing the problem.
If it could be a virus, not saying it is... but if it is... dont format, www.killdisk.com, download, put on cd or floppy and run it on the affected PC. (it boots off floppy or cd). Run a zero pass on your hard drive. Formatting doesnt delete anything, so you might be better zeroing your drive (this *actually* deletes everything*) if its a virus or similar, you want them gone for good.
? Formattng deletes everything? That is why when you try it says you will lose all of your data, are you sure you want to do this?
Lol , mine did the same exact thing. I forget wat button it is, google it. anyway its a button u press or combo of keys together and its starts system restore. I did that and my comp was like new, of course ull have to install and download everything u had put on ur comp...
? Formattng deletes everything? That is why when you try it says you will lose all of your data, are you sure you want to do this? [/b][/quote] I think what he was getting at was this. Formatting doesn't exactly erase your drive it just messes everthing up to an extreme(it does get rid of stuff to to some extent). There are plenty of programs out there these days that are more than capeable of pulling stuff off of a formatted drive and getting it back to a viewable state - documents, pictures, etc... Writing 0's to your dive after a format is a very good idea. Then reinstall windows after that.
