    Okay...
I don't understand why this is happening,
but lately my computer has been lagging and it's making me mad.

    First here are my specs

    Hp Pavilion dv6000
    3gb 667mhz ddr2 (1 1gb, 1 2gb stick)
    NVidia GeForce 512mb GFX Card
    Amd Turion64 x 2 socket 638 2 core (1.8ghz x 2)
    400gb 7200rpm SATA 1 Toshiba internal hdd
Windows XP ----- Service Pack 2

I'm not computer dumb, or anywhere near that.
    But I'm stumped right now,
I have minimal services and minimal start up items

I've ran multiple virus scans (in safe mode and out)
I've ran a few anti-spyware scans as well,
nothing is found (except random cookies that don't really effect me)

Does anyone have any other ideas?
I've also changed the prefetch for windows boot files and I've ran BootVis as well.

    I'm so discombobulated right now,
I can't open FireFox without my computer skipping a heartbeat

    so any help is appreciated,
    thanks much

Check your registry. Either try out a registry cleaner or use ccleaner to check if you have any issues. Also try a different video card driver.

Check Out Registry Mechanic, if you read my thread. Same ---- was happening. I just used Registery Mechanic and its much better.

i use ccleaner regularly and also use tune-up utilities 08 registry cleaner/defrager,
so i don't think that'd be the cause,

    i'll try reg mechanic,
as long as its not to expensive
