Data Transfer

    k i just got myself a brand spankin new pc (quad core 2.66)

    currently i have 2 drives on this pc.
    both 200gB
    c: for pc games and drivers etc etc
    d: all my backed up stuff



    question, how do i get my stuff from this pc to the other one?
    i dont fancy burning dvd to equal 171gb worth of data and saved programs tools

    since im still a noob to pc hardware i am sorta unshure wtf i should do
    take the drive out and put it into the other one?

    or is there a cable i can use to transfet the files from one to the other?

    Umm, I would recommend buying either a USB thumb drive, or an external hard drive. Probably the hard drive would be better, since it's quite a bit more space. They aren't too expensive either. Look at best buy or staples.

    Buying a External Hard Drive is the Best thing you can do
    First attach your Old drive and transfer all your data to the External HD

    And then plug in your new HD and transfer data from External HD to the new HD in your Cabinet ;)
    This should work out :D

    just plug the old harddrive into the new pc

    If you have both of the computers at the same house then you could always just buy a router and network them together. There you can just enable sharing on the folder you wish to transfer to the other PC and just drag and drop. If it's at another location, you could always take out the HD from one PC and put it on the other and just transfer that way.
