Welcome to the food chain and mother nature.

No one sees eye to eye with human and beast, but the end of it is were all animals, and those who are dominant do this. If we didn't bash them over the head there would be a polar bear to come alone and slash em and eat em, etc.

I don't see this kind of activity so much as inhumane and cruel, its an advanced method of killing rather than brute force. Almost all the seals seemed to die on impact, so its fine as far as I am concerned, but that one seal that kept flopping around until dead = *tear*.

Wait. You said they do it to survive? Last time I saw a video similar to this was in 2006, and I clearly remember it being mentioned as a sport in some country. (Canada?)

    Meh who knows.

I doubt they would bring the seals back with them and transport them on boats if it was a sport.

Butchers are different, are cows disapeering from the world...? No, pigs? No, chickens? No, Do you go to your grocery store and buy a slab of seal no! I bet maybe 20 out of the however many members have actually tasted or seen a place with seal before. Seals do not need to be killed, what are they being used for when they're killed? If you can provide me with substantial evidence that killing them is generating something useful and helpful to someones everyday life maybe ill change my decision.

Their fat is used to make liquids to burn.

Their meat is fatty and considered a delicacy in numerous countries.

Your country isn't the only country in the world you know, and there are thousands / millions of of different cultures.

Ok theyre fat is used, any fat will burn, why cant they use fat from something else, seals are starting to become endangered because of this, i dont see why they dont use another source for fat instead of lowering the count on the seals we have left in this world.

Whales are poached as well as multiple other animals, walrus, etc. Seals are evidently quite a bit easier to catch and kill than whales.

Once they are put on the endangered species list for sure, we won't be having these major issues without severe consequences =P.

I dont believe in this ---- at all. There's a difference between killing an animal and torturing an animal. This is pure torture. I mean, why not do it quick, safely, and clean? I swear, Im going to club these mother ------ers in the head.

They did, not to mention bullet wounds generally cause infections and must be cleaned and cut out accordingly. The skull meat is rarely used in any animal to my knowledge, and thus the skull can be crushed without harming the rest of the body speaking purely in terms of profit. I would imagine buying clubs is much cheaper than buying guns and ammo, and the only other remote alternative I can think of from a hunting perspective is a bow and arrow, which runs into similar issues as guns, except less powerful and cheaper.
