Are we allowed to express our opinion on these rules? If so, I deeply despise having to do SOTW every week.. Fair enough if its a theme I like. But its usually a theme every week that I don't really want to do and will put in minimal effort JUST to get this rule filled out.. Its like doing an assessment task at school for a topic you hate. Art shouldn't be something with strict themes and guidelines that artists must abide to, or be kicked out of their art group for(art movement etc.).. Its like forcing Picasso to make something NOT related to cubism, because the group decided to change their style.. It would just be ridiculously bad and he would despise doing it.. Same scenario here, I certainly don't want to HAVE to hate doing art just to fulfill some silly rule.
you may think it of that way but try it from this perspective: have you ever played with some sort of sports team(football,rugby,american football,baseball) and each week the team goes to training to stay sharp and be the best,yet train in different techniques which thier not used to, its the excat same here basicly sotw is used by ag to keep us all sharp and at the top of our game , i mean who the ------ gets a game for thier football team if they havent trained in the last month,so just think of it that way,your not asked to create a work of art each week your just asked to make a tag no matter what to keep yourself sharp and at the top of your game look at at all the other crews, thier all inferior to this crew because none of them make tags regularly so dont think it of it as a cruel regime think of it as keeping sharp,it doesnt take a lot of time to make atag anyway
If a football team was training before a match, they wouldn't change their techniques at the very last minute.. Also each player would be good only at a certain thing, and other things maybe less so simply because they don't enjoy it (e.g. forcing someone to be a goalkeeper if you hate it)
I agree with Immortal :S I don't like making signatures for themes. Maybe change the rules to a minimum of one SotW a month, but then you have to have an art thread and update it at least once a week. That will keep everyone fresh, and keep people happy.
im talking about training like 4 days before the match or w.e so you can get the techniques right but guess it didnt come out right if we do sotw everyweek it wont only keep us sharp and improve us itll also beef up ag's reputation as the best crew
Been waiting for someone to say that. I don't want any more crying and stuff here Takes less than 20 minutes to whip out a tag, and I know that everyone on AG is on a Laptop with PS Open for more than 1 - 2 hours everyday so 20 min won't kill you. And we are not asking you to make something and win the SOTW each week, but just asking that you create something and enter it in the SOTW, despite you win or loose it is a good exercise for everyone here. I've got a laptop but I don't use it with PS. The reason we want everyone to enter every SotW, is due to the fact that we have had members in the past that simply stop making art and just stay in the crew because it's Artistic Genesis. I myself stopped making art for a little while and you know that I have become rusty as hell. The point isn't to win SotW... it's to be active in designing and the crew. Simple as that. If you don't like it, tough luck.
Maybe in two years once I get my job at Google or Yahoo and make 250K a Year Deal? Fixed .... I haven't made in a while and gotten rusty and such. Zain
:S I don't have a laptop Anyway I'll keep doing it but I won't try hard.. Probably just like a plain stock or something. Cause I shouldn't have to do jack if I won't enjoy it.
