i have a computer thats an HP with windows XP on it and it was freezing last year and i cleared the harddrive and its freezing again but without so much junk on it. and what could some possible problems be ive called around to computer places and they want like $40 to look at it and tell me but i can buy parts for that price.
Most likely you have too much ---- lying around on your hard drive.. Delete unnecessary stuff. Old games, unused programs, whatever. Every little thing adds up. GL fixing this!
it freezes in like 10 minutes so i am slowly getting prorgrams deleted but it doesnt have time to delete the big stuff and it doesnt find any virus's when i search for them but i think i do cause when it first started freezing it would find them and delete them but then when it would freeze alot faster it wouldnt find them
hmm how computer savvy are you? I would generally recommend a full OS reinstall, but idk if you can't handle it
wut i do when there is a freezin computer with the freezing proces computer is i lik to clean the inside with a wet cloth then if it stil duz it i likeee,,,, to shak it up a bit dis can help free intenil resources sometimz. also u try installing the fedora linux.
Your hp should have come with a recovery disk. If not then you could try installing ubuntu or any other linux if you don't want to spend money on an OS. http://www.ubuntu.com/
oh yeah i have a bunch of recover discs but where would i go in control panel or something cause ive tried but i always click on the wrong one lol then it takes like a year to load
put in the recovery discs and reboot the comp. it should automatically start running and if it doesn't make sure that you boot your recovery discs, not your hd by hitting F2.
Oi reinstall and recovery is last resort. Get a program off the internet called Prime 95. Run it on the blend test for 3 hours, just let it run. IF it stops working during any time of those 3 hours its cpu or memory....then download mem test, put it on a floppy or cd, boot to it...run mem test for 1 hour, if no errors its cpu. If errors its memory or board, good luck.
