I want a game to replace Battlefield 2142 (bugs pissing me off more and more)

    Requirements:

    - Something Clan based. (Clans/guilds are in the game.)
    - Very popular game. (Loads of people playing online.)
    - Either RPG or FPS or Racing (Not WoW or CoD or TF2)
    - Doesn't have to be a brand new game.

umm that's all I can think of right now lol

    Appreciated.

If you have a LOT of time to play, and don't want WoW, then FFXI.

If you don't have a lot of time to play, then GW.

If you play casually but don't mind a grind (and don't like WoW), AoC, but GW imo is still arguably better, but I hate them both.

Man after trying Guild Wars Factions I have given up on the whole GW thing.

It makes me wanna re-activate my account and play WoW all day. (too addictive)

I would advise at least a months subscription when WotLK comes out, there is a LOT of changes happening, could spark it back up again for you.

Nothing really compares imo, AoC is just another grind fest and GW is much more of a casual MMO than competitive or grind.

I suppose you can go really old school and go for something like Diablo 2. With Diablo 3 announced I have personally gone back to playing, as have a few members of the IRC. I don't do FPS, but obviously any steam game will have tons of online players if your willing to invest some money to pick up the games.

Those are basically your main options in terms of computer gaming at the moment.

    Yeah I was thinking about getting into WoW again once I know when the expansion is going to be released;
but with last year of uni coming up, maybe not a good idea lol

I'd only wanna play Diablo 2 again if theres a group of people playing with me.

Steam sounds good, I'll check out their line-up.

    Why not Call of Duty?
I don't really like the multi-player side of it. I loved the Single player however.

Steam does have some good games, but my advice is to get the Orange Box from steam. Some great games in there for a good price.

If you are a really devoted person, play Lineage 2. And if you don't want to play retail, just get a free server for it.
