Remember Google is your friend #3) This is also caused if you have some sort of Cracked or Warez Products installed, and have done some sort of Editing to the Main Files in the Program Files or other Folders of your C:\ Drive. So if you have some Cracked or Warez Programs installed I suggest you un-install them and that shall fix the problem as well Good Luck Vanquish
#1 is simple Go to All Programs and see if you have something called Botnet installed if not then go to Add Remove Programs to see that #3 was just an idea of what might be installed on your computer So if you have anything like that delete it -van
you do know that a botnet is a type of trojan right? run AV and AM scanners all over your pc, full scans not just quick ones and dont run them at the same time, that could lead to tainted results fix all crap that they find then use either a dedicated registy cleaner program or the registry tab on CCleaner (make sure to make a backup when it asks you)
Hmm, well all I found that looked suspicious was a add and remove program thing that said "OpenMG Limited patch 4.7-07-14-05-01" would that be like anything in #3? Should I uninstall it or is it just like a program update for something? I'm pretty sure I don't have any files that mess with my registry or programs, unless my cousin put them on my computer because there was a "Matrix.bat" file in My Documents which I have deleted. And for viruses I use free AVG. Is that one good? Or does anyone know a good one that is under $65 that I can find at like bestbuy?
Kaspersky has one of the best detection rates and a close second is avast OpenMG is sony's DRM so if you have a sony mp3 player or phone your music may stop working if you uninstall that.
To clean up your comp use one of these AVs: NOD32, Bitdefender, Kaspersky. Also use one of these antispyware programs: SuperAntiSpyware, A-squared.
1) open a command prompt 2) type sfc /scannow 3) have your windows XP cd and put it in when it asks for it.
