V1 definately. I think it needs a bit more contrast in the center.

 

Try using the burn tool on the sides that way it will get more depth
Give it more contrast and a little bit less lighting
To get a clear focal
Overall I will go with Version 1

Definitely agree with Vanquish. I'd suggest making the transition from dark to light less abrupt, though, maybe a little fade with a smudge or even just the blur/burn tools. I'm not sure.

 

Thanks guys. I made this in about 30 minutes. I'll work on it more tomorrow after I get home from work. Maybe Sunday.
