This is my opinion For servers = linux owns windows Gaming/Graphic design pc = windows owns linux SIMPLE Also...if u went to linux u'd hav to use gay 'gimp' cos u cant us photoshop with it <_<
Photoshop does work with linux it just needs some tweaking... And gareth, if you don't know you don't say... Gimp is a very good program but it is a lot different of photoshop. About games, buy cedega or download it on some p2p it'll let you run windows games on linux
just so u guys know...if u wanna go try linux and ur afraid of installing it, i might suggest slax. you burn the iso onto a disk, it boots from the cd and bingo linux on a disk
If you wanna try out linux, download knoppix, it's about 700mb and boots the operating system off the disk. So you can have windows installed on your harddrive but when you want to, you can boot from the knoppix disk and use linux instead.
or u could get slax V that just came out and its 200Megs and 200times better faster and better looking
I have a Redhat 9 webserver running apache, its so much better than windows. However, i dualbooted on my main Pc with redhat for a while and it has to be said, Linux does have a long way to go before its as user friendly and as universaly compatible as windows. So, servers on Linux and workstations on Windows, basicly. And if you buy Red Hat you get a sheet of metallic stickers! and a case badge.
