Cd4's?

    why are they so popular now a days, it seems to take away from the artistic element of design. almost every single tutorial on this site requires you to use one and i think its a bit silly, lets bring back the good days when it took some imagination to create something

    They are effects. You don't create any of the effects (like filters etc) on photoshop. You type in numbers, or move a thing across a line. Why is it any different?

    what i meant was all of it seems that no one uses brushes anymore, its just "paste a cd4, add this effect, blah blah blah" and there isnt any real challenge or creativity to it. they only thing making graphics different is the different cd4's people use and not their own creative touch

    Look at the best artists on this site, none of them JUST put a c4d in the tag. They all use smudging, lighting, depth, brushes, everything to make a good tag.
