Can someone please help me find a board for my site? I would use IP Board, but it's really expensive. I don't want a free forum hosting place or w/e that places ads on your site and junk, just the actual installation for the board on my own hosting (such as phpBB or SMF). Help please? If you're looking for a "free" solution then I'd go with SMF. I've personally been using it for a few years. If you have any questions or anything feel free hit me up, I'll help out where I can.
SMF or phpBB gmv I would say old school IPB 1.3, but I don't believe your allowed to use that anymore for free, and its security vulnerabilities are retarded.
The last board I was running with IPB 1.3 got hacked so I'd stay away from that if possible. lol SMF just recently released 2.0 Beta and seems to have a lot of new features but if your looking for a stable release I'd go with v1.1.5.
mhmm, you have to do a a lot of work to get 1.3 to work 100% without a huge amount of security vulnerabilities. On the other hand, it has some of the best mod selections of any forum board =P and it was damn simple to skin and code.
