So yeah...I've been looking around for a external hard drives for my laptop since I'm now down to 75 gigs out of 185. I'm interested in ones that are 320gigs and above. Price isn't really an issue with me (as long as it isn't above $300), but I would like to know which is a good brand (Western Digital, Simple Tech etc.). Also I wouldn't some people's personal opinions about their own external hard drives as well.
This one is 1000GB for $279.99, I have the 500GB one and haven't had any problems with it. You can look check the other prices on these ones too. Link
I personally Dislike Segate as I have had a problem with a 500GB HD from them before, and they asked me to pay them 2499 + Shipping so they could get my data off the HD into couple of DVD's Which in my case is stupid to pay 10times the Money for an HD than you paid to get it repaired... I like Western Digital, as I currently am using this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136172 249.99 And So far I haven't gotten any bugs, or things so far, plus it is cheap for 1TB Storage If you are looking for a 320GB Storage here is a smooth slick one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136241 169.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136227 169.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136237 169.99 (it comes in different colours) 500GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136170 159.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136080 111.99 If you need more or less storage do ask Z
Ahh..well it seems WD is the best choice. But I've been looking at some of the ones Best Buy sells, and in a bunch of the reviews, customers say something about the software that comes with the drive, and formatting. Anyone care to explain to me? ^^; But so far I like these two: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1185271084278 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1202648989560
Western Digital imo, is the best for hard drives. I really like the 1TB amd thinki you should get a 1Tb, it will be well worth it, 500GBs are around $200 at best buy I think, so why not pay $70 extra and get 500GB more, and that My Book Essential 1TB External Hard Drive is one of the best i have seen, and is best buys most popular.
Yep, that's what I have. It's password protected, and you can connect to it through ethernet or wirelessly. It's definitely worth the money IMO. ~TonicX57
http://www.lacie.com/us/products/product.htm?pid=11049 That's the one I got, it costs around $130 but I'm European and it was at discount so it did barely cost me anything..
