Well my microsoft life chat lx-3000 headset
finally is no longer functional its a great headset with good quality and good microphone
but i ran over the cord too many times with my chair leaving an exposed wire
i think they were great, especially for the price

looking for a new headset thought maybe you guys could recommend something better
if not i might just buy these again lol

looking for something preferably around the same price $60-$70 in store
or just post up your fav's

    thanks
    ~Rob

For FPS gaming or games that require accurate sound positioning, and games that dont have base:

    SteelSeries 5Hv2 -- Best Headset

This headset SUCKS for music and games with special effects and base. Its amazing for games like:

    CS
    CS:S
    and Generally MOST fps games.

    Anyways have fun!

    thanks for the posts,
yea i was planning on using electrical tape but
for the day i posted this and the next, i kept fidgeting with it, but i couldn't get it in the exact position
    to work what so ever....
but then after getting home from being away for a few days, since then
    its worked perfectly

    if problems occur again
i'll definitely check these headsets out
    thanks again

I was going to say the same. My friend has a pair, and I'm buying a pair next week, I use some Altec Lansing's for music though.

for your cord problem- if you have your desktop underneath your computer, then feed the chord around the back of the desk so the chord sits on top of your desk. i had the same problem as you and this is how i fixed it.

I truly don't bother about a 'gaming' headset. Why should I? Got my stereos open, built-in micro in my webcam. Just fine.

Tough I have bought a Sweex headset for €3, it's doing great, especially for what it costed :)
