I need some more of these myself. I want to wear some custom designs, but most of these go way past my budget.

I don't really know anything about Wordans, but I've tried doing some of my own, and my personal favorite is SpreadShirt
Out of a bunch of quality tests they were rated the best, and it's pretty easy to use

About local shops, most of them won't do them for you unless you want to buy in bulk. A local shop where I live will do them in no less than 15, and at 15 shirts, it's $15 a shirt. Once you get around 500 shirts, they will do them for about $6 a shirt, but until then it isn't really worth it. The problem is if you bust, you're stuck with $3000 worth of shirts.

Edit: Just checked out Wordans. I like their interface and all, but they are a lot more expensive. I can get the same shirt made for $9.90 at Spreadshirt as would cost $23.90 at Wordans
