Last night around 3am i was just finishing playing some games and i had noticed a bit of lag and such, so i decided to overclock my processor a little bit. I booted into the bios and messed around with the speeds and whatnot, i dont know much about overclocking but i was to nieve(sp?) to look into it. So i finished, saved, and rebooted. When i booted nothing happened, it was just a blank screen. So i shut it down and turn it off to wait till morning to mess with it. My computer has done this before after shutting down and usually just trying again works. So this morning i turn everything on and the same thing happens. I tried to find my motherboard instillation disk but no luck there. Can anyone point me in the direction of some help? I have a foxconn 975x7ab motherboard, and a intel allendale 1.8ghz dual core processor
how far did you try to overclock that thing? what cooling are you using? stock cooler is probably ok for around 3GHz or so but I'd probably back down a little bit. try 300 FSB * 9. adjust CPU voltage as necessary. memory should be set to 1:1 and timings set to 4-4-4 or lower if possible. also 90% chance that the lag is from the video card, not the CPU.
