cod1 was still the best game imo, i havent played cod2 too much, played cod4 so now and then.. i think they should make a game in a even older genre, like world war one, or the napoleon time, that would be interesting as there are already alot of wwII & modern warfare games
CoD 3 was a let down. Hell even when it came out, I stuck to CoD 2. Don't think CoD 5 will be any better than the third one. The only thing good about Call of Duty 3 was the smoke. Damn was it beautiful.
Call Of Duty 3 was pretty stupid. It was so hard to join peoples games. The game play felt so light and not intense as Call Of Duty 4 was.
Treyarch: Definite Pass Going back to WW2: Definite Pass = Epic Fail. Activision should stop letting Treyarch make games for the COD series. Just let IW do every game, and just release like each one every 3 yrs, without having some poopy company make one in the middle.
Don't even know why they let Treyarch make 3 in the first place, and you think they would have learned by now... Oh well, we will just have to wait for Call of Duty 6.
"World at War" just saw a commercial on TV for it, rofl, weird. Didn't look too bad, never played any CoD except my 360's CoD4, love it.
From IGN: "Call of Duty: World at War Revealed Activision's FPS returns to WWII with a new name and setting. by Jimmy Thang June 9, 2008 - Santa Monica developer Treyarch has revealed the first details about its upcoming shooter, Call of Duty: World at War (previously known as Call of Duty 5). Having previously developed Call of Duty 3, the team is bringing the FPS franchise back to its WWII roots. Treyarch also revealed in the Official Xbox Magazine that the next Call of Duty will, for the first time, support four-player co-op over Xbox Live. IGN has contacted the game's publisher, Activision, to see if that feature will make its way over to the other platforms, but no confirmation on that yet. Activision announced that the latest Call of Duty would feature a new military theater last May, and has remained true to its word by taking the series to the Pacific, with players fighting the Japanese. Parts of the game will also take place in Berlin as the Russians advance in on the Germans. Though Treyarch is developing Call of Duty: World at War, the game is still utilizing Infinity Ward's engine from last year's award-winning Call of Duty 4. The World at War team, has also had an additional year of development time when compared to its first COD effort, Call of Duty 3. Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith has stated that the next installment of Call of Duty would make its way to the DS, PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 platforms before the end of the company's 2009 fiscal year, which has typically ended on March 31."
Earlier today I watched the reveal trailer posted up on IGN and it didn't look horrible but I'm not a WWII game fan so I really don't think I'll be playing/buying this
I was on the fence about this one when I heard Treyarch was developing the game but since seeing the recent trailer I'll keep my eyes on the title. I think the 4 player co-op will be a plus and sure it's WWII but honestly, if Infinity Ward didn't come out with Modern Warfare I don't think anyone would be complaining. With that said, I didn't really like COD3 but COD5 seems to be running on the new engine and looks similar to COD4. I think it will be a great filler until Infinity Ward puts out another title, I guess it's that or nothing.
Huh! Already a CoD5? CoD4 isn't so old. CoD 1,UO,2 and 3 was about the world war, 5 is something else. CoD3 was in my opinium a misstake, CoD3 is like Vista, they make something to just earn money.
