honestly for me, it was Call of Duty  one of my buddies made a COD tag for our forum (it was horrible now that i look back at it) but it was the first sig i've ever seen and it was the greatest thing to me lol. i discovered more about GFX, photoshop, and basic sig making after googling until my eyes fried lol. i thought i'd be in a rut because photoshop was a little too expensive for me without a job or money to start off with. i ACTUALLY mowed lawns and painted garages so i could buy the program lmao. when i made my first sig i was so excited and i thought it looked amazing. i mean, i showed my mom and everything lol. after a few months of trial and error with no real improvement, i decided i needed lottts of help. i stumbled accross GAMERENDERS when i found a tut to work off of. it's been about 4 years since my first sig and 3 years since i made GR my second home lol. i'd never change any decision i've made about exploring GFX as a career field. grant it there's still a lot i need to learn.......but this forum helped me shape my life into what it is now! thank yas to GR and everyone in it! What got you into GFX? Don't be shy! Tell us your story
A buddy of mine introduced to me to photoshop about 2 years ago. He quite soon after. I, appearantly, haven't xD I still like doing it, but I don't do sigs anymore. I mainly focus on resources such as making tutorials and renders nowadays
was the max power magazine in the uk was reading it and they were showing some car chops but i didnt know what made them and then my friend showed me photoshop and since then he stopped and i didnt spotted this a few weeks ago and its got me started on photochopping now tell me this aint awesome
Sadly, for me it was Runescape. I started off in paint, just adding text to my clans logo, then i decided to download GIMP. After about a month i started to get the hang of it...now i've been using Photoshop for about 3 months, and i hope i'm much better After about a year of graphics, i got where i was now. But, sadly, the RS clan that i was in kind of held me back. I was just brushing in grungey backgrounds, colourizing it, adding a render and gaussian blurring it :S People kept telling me it was good...DD::
It has been asked here quite a few times but whatever... Well as I saw other people doing those nice colorful signatures which can be used on different websites and communities to show off your skills, I decided to get into graphics and start doing my own artworks! And here I am today, already quit!
I was playing Socom and the clan I was in got into Gamebattles, a website for wars. Well, I checked out the forums one day and noticed everyone wearing these images with their names and asked around until I found out it was the result of Photoshop. Turns out my buddy actually had a copy and let me have it, and well, I'm now Photoshopless but I do wish I still had it. GFX is a fun thing to do in spare time.
I needed to make wrestling posters for someone. All the ones he were getting were pretty much the same with a cut&paste different wrestlers text. So I told him I will see what I can do. This happened last night btw. That is why I came back to GR.
Well for me, my dad introduced me to PS. He's been making logos for his company. And he makes websites and makes the banners for the website he makes. Then I didn't really show much interest coz I thought that it was lame and very easy to do. But then a friend of mine taught me alot of stuff bout PS. And then I started making LP's and sigs. I've been using photoshop for some few months now.
cheatsocom.com about 4 years ago i was sick of requesting sigs to be made for me in the 'Sig Request' section.
For me, it was Halo 2, i got in a nice clan and we had a website and all that, and they kept searching for a logo, we changed names at least 5 times trying to find a good logo that worked, and a guy said he was gonna make one on photoshop, it looked pretty good to me then, until i came across game renders, looking for game pictures to play with in photoshop, i know now, it was really really bad! lol
An old browser game called "Darkwars". There was a GFX Request section where people made a couple mill each time they did something. And a mill was a bunch back then, so I got PS one day and tried it, but got more involved on other sites.
