Computers are the rulers of gaming, consoles are just the wannabe lil peeps that hang around it!

Lol, computers might have better graphics most of the time because they are more powerful, but nothing beats the gaming pleasure and ease on a console :)
You just stick in the Cd and play, no installation ---- and stuff (allthough I must admit it's different on the Ps3 since there is a sort of installation required sometimes)

But all in all, I just love playing with a console an controller instead of using a keyboard and stuff. And laying back on the couch while playing... Life can be good ^^
Only type of games where I prefer a Pc are First Person Shooters :)

maybe for RTSes where keyboards are more or less a necessity..

consoles have their place though. I'm a PC enthusiast and I'll be the first to admit that they do offer a solid platform.

probably but unfortunately nto every game comes out on every platform and some people a $200 used 360 on some old 20inch screen is all they can afford. no way a 200 PC can get a decent gaming experience.
if you've got more cash though they're the platform with the most potential
    yeh probably

I must admit with Sani a bit :D, it's pretty relaxed to play consoles because of the fact you can lay back and just play. But off course you can use a controller for your comp but that just doesn't give the same feel :D

Overall I do prefer PC for gaming, except for Halo :D

Consoles are good for what you pay for them.

Actually, if you want to get the full gaming experience from consoles you have to get them all because each console only has a few games thats good, if you wanna play the other good console games you need to buy the other console

PS3+360+Wii(All with controllers and other needed accessories) = around a 1000 dollars which is totally enough to make a good gaming computer...

Computers are arguably the cheaper option but to say consoles are "wannabes" is pretty wrong. Right now, for the price PS3 delivers far better gaming experience than a computer could and you just cannot get the experience of a Wii on PC (yet). Pc's are more complicated to run because they do not have a select purpose like a console and are more readily broken if you don't know what you're doing (consoles come with inbuilt software to deter hackers/viruses these days, not many computers do unless it's Windows Firewall if your lucky).

Despite that I have to say my preferred setup if I could afford it would be a nice 32" samsung monitor hooked up to a Wii and a multimedia/gaming PC with wireless mouse/keyboard and M$ 360forPC controller. I can't think of many games that wouldn't work on a system like that, and work really well, that I would want to buy.

PC gaming is fun I have to admit, but you also have to put it this way. With all the next-gen games coming out, PC games have to try and keep up. So as time goes by graphics will continue to get better. While thats going on many PC gamers might be stuck on older games because their computer can't handle the graphics of the new game or the mechanics for that matter. Some people can't even afford upgrading their computer that many times to play a game. Now I'm not saying you have to upgrade for every game but if people want to get into the newest generation of gaming for the PC and play games like Crysis they will have to upgrade.

I'm a fan of the console gaming because you buy the console and have no need to upgrade it. If you want a certain game then you can go buy it no matter how good the graphics are or how good the game mechanics are. As long as its for that system you can play it.

And therein lies the rub. Sure, once you have a console you can sleep safe at night that the games coming out tomorrow for your console will be able to play on what you have bought but give it a few years and suddenly there's a new console...and now non of the games work. Backwards compatibility has helped but its hardly complete; my Wii doesn't play my N64 games let alone my NES ones. Plus thats a faltering argument as all PCs can play the whole back catalogue, maybe for very old games with a few free software installs (particularly for Win 95/98 games now on Vista) but it doesn't cost much.
Consoles also cost a lot on the whole for what they deliver. I mean for the price of a PS3 in the UK I can buy a good gaming rig (without monitor, but then the console doesn't come with a TV so fair play really...plus my price also includes peripherals like speakers and keyboard/mouse/M$ controller which the console may not) and whats more that PC will play Crysis and other top end games easily meaning it will serve me for at least two years, pushing itself a little maybe with more graphics intensive stuff. That said, when it finally comes to the point where I do need a little more power chances are I won't need a complete upgrade but just GPU and maybe some more RAM, depends on original build and future compatibility. Even so it won't set me back the full cost again and at the same times PS4 will be on the horizon looking set to cost another £500 or so upon release (with peripherals...maybe, though look at the price jump between PS2 and PS3...).

My point is a PC is easily upgradable, you dont need a whole new system every time a game comes out and if you shell out a little at the start to get a high end PC it will last for a good while whereas when a new console comes out you don't have a choice but to buy the whole thing again.
