    Thanks for your input
    The cause was the PSU
replaced the 350w with a 500w and all works fine
the company that fixed it even cleaned the system of virus' and spyware for free :)

BUT! What does the H, L and A on the back of the PSU stand for?
the like past 4 i've had have just had off and on haha!
    Cheers!

A world far beyond your imagination...
    Hm...
I really dont know but it might be something that you downloaded before you pressed the power button...

Roll Back your computer to an earlier stage

Go to Safe Mode if you can and use System Restore..
It should be working .. without any issues ... in Safe Mode

probably not the solution, but you can try resetting your bios, see if that helps

I had the problem where mine wouldn't boot, because of a similar problem, it didn't reboot but it just wouldn't boot, really I think the only thing you can do is reinstall your operating system, or do a system restore.

All though if you're using a decent pre-built computer (hp, sony etc...) you can probably hit f10 when it boots and your computer might have built a back up drive for you to restore to.

Either way I'm sorry to say I think you're probably going to lose your data to your last back up, I mean if it's desperate there are ways to get it back but it's a pain. So yeah I'd advise f10 if you can, restoring from cd back up, or re-installing your OS disc. I'll re-itterate if you DO this you WILL lose all your data.

if you need to restore, and you want to save data, get your hdd out, put it in an other pc as a secondary hdd boot up and you can get to the files :)

Do a non-destructive restore. The kind that just restores system files and factory installed programs but keeps all your documents, if you have that option of course.

    Hi,
A bit how ya goin hey
Ok done this a few times firstly BackUP a Must then I think its your power supply especially if everytime you started it got slower and slower
    you can re-install windows.
Boot from CD or DVD then go throught the setup process ubtil you get to where you see F3 the second time then press F3 this will run you through the entire
windows install but will not overwrite anything just your main windows and system file
Try the windows install first if that fails power supply
    Good Luck

    yeah it was the PSU
I thought it was when it happened but thought I would get it checked
and the guy in the shop started saying like new processor, motherboard, HDD and RAM
and I was like woah! i've only just put in a new HDD and another 1gb of RAM so somebody else looked and said just a new PSU
    haha!
got a 500w one in now
but what does the H, L and A on the back stand for??
is it like speed so high, low and something else?
the last like 4 PSU's i've used have just had the on and off button haha!
thanks for help in advance! :)

Before you buy a new PSU try unplugging everything that is plugged into your USB ports; I had a problem similar to yours, and when I unplugged everything that was in the front ports, it was able to easily boot itself up.

Also, chances are you'll only need a 500 watt or maybe even lower... Go for a cheap price. ;p

Try to bootup from the System Recovery CD that was brought with the computer. I had this problem last week and I (sadly enough) had to reformat and reinstall my whole system because the system32 folder was damaged.
