Ok so I'm looking for a new laptop (not for me, well kind of is, but lets not go into that) and I'm looking at the best I can get for around £400, £500 at the maximum push.

E.g. if possible give me a £400 and £500 example, and note the differences between them.
I'd also like it to be pretty simple to set up, so nothing too complicated like building it by hand etc....

Ok I'm also looking at a new tower. I already have a brand new vaio laptop to run CS3 off.

    Vaio specs
ok, now that's fine mostly for uhm, Photoshop sigs etc... but moving onto larger stuff (big space scapes or for something like reorganising photos etc...) it actually tends to struggle slightly.

So I'm kind of looking at uhm, something that really can cope with that large space, I might even look at dual screen, so I'm looking at computers that can cope with this.

Ergo, I'm really looking at something pre-built (hp, alienware, mac etc...) (I'll note here that I am perfectly fine with either mac(leopard) or vista) with something that has the capability for true massive graphics (talking up to 4X2m) along with photo management working well as well. (yeah I don't think that was very descriptive, so yeah I'd hope that's understandable)

Price for this I'm looking, at something reasonably priced that can cope in £'s and if you might think it's stupidly expensive maybe offer a good alternative that can at least cope well

Thanks for the help in advance

Its impossible to get all the things you want with your laptop for under £500. You either have to be willing to spend some more or cut back on some features. The configuration i could find closet was about £640.
