Point at the wall and see if it looks. Im doing a science project in school to see if dogs can tell if your "pointing".

My dogs pretty funny lol she like looks at my hand then she looks into the air so i guess she knows im 'pointing'

Both of mine look at me when I point. Maybe once out of like 100 tries they turned, but I can't remember.

It depends on the distance of the object, to which I am pointing. If it's a foot away, then my dog will notice the pointing gesture, as we've trained him to recognize it. However, if it's pointing to an object at a considerable distance (5 feet or more) then he'll be confused as ----, and not even look.

If I point close the my Dogs recognize what I am talking about instantly.
If it's far I need to point and say "Go look over there" and most likely they find what I am talking about. Or they find a bone and screw off. ><

Interesting, my dog looks if I point somewhere, the majority of the time he probably just wants food

I don't have a dog mate but I'd presume dogs are capable of sensing the 'pointing'.
