Kobe was the only legitimate choice this year.

    Chris Paul, sure, but no.

If your team is 4th in the terribly boring eastern conference your not going to win MVP.

The Celtics are seriously being overlooked this year more than they should be. Garnett has been absolute win lately. Definitely rooting for the Celtics this year to go all the way.

I've always found Kobe to be a bit overrated. It's probably just me. Oh well. 'least Garnett got most Defensive Player.

It would've been a lot tougher for KG to win the MVP award with all the other stars he's got on the Celts.

Very true, Pierce, Cassel, Ray Allen. Thing is, Garnett really was the one who carred that team to get the 66 wins this year in regular season. He really did carry the team. I just simply think it makes more sense for the player whom manages to carry a team filled with a bunch of valuable players to begin with to get the MVP than the one who's practically one of the few truly, TRULY notable players on the team.

    Again, it's probably just me.

It's just you. How can a player be overrated when he is the best overall player since Micheal Jordan.

Since Jordan? WTF? Not only is that only a matter of opinion, but honestly, with all the records Jordan's put on the board that is still waiting to be broken 'til this day, there's no way in hell Bryant can match up to Jordan. Bryant is not THAT great of a player. At this point in time, I don't even see him as a team player. Same for LeBron. These people are not really team players. They're by themselves, practically, with no big name or amazing teammates to coincide.

Like the Lakers a few years ago, there was at least Shaq or whatever. Now it's just Kobe...

That's why I say Garnett earns it. The entire Celtics is a working team, from Garnett, to Pierce, to Cassell, to Allen. And Garnett managed to carry that team full of great players into an astounding and unmatched regular season, into the playoffs today, in which they're leading against the MAGICAL, WONDERFUL, AND AMAZING LEBRON, 2-0.

I seriously think Garnett earns it this year. He brought a team from the ashes back into its 17 championship dynasty.

Though, this IS all a matter of opinion. Just see it as that, I suppose.

I found it REALLY surprising that this is only Kobe's first MVP award. I havn't really followed basketball all that much, and I'm not exactly a Kobe/Lakers fan, but still, congratz to him.
