I am running CoreTemp Beta 0.99. I'm getting a reading around 55 C for past half hour. Is this good? Should I cool it? If so by fan or liquid? Also I am going to upgrasde to quadcore in next few months will that def need to be cooled?

72C is threshold by intel spec so you're probably fine.

c2ds have been found to be incredibly resilient. those suckers just don't die. at least not from temps. the 45nm ones start croaking past 1.35V but realistically they all hit around 4Ghz with less than 1.3V
